On Monday mornings in the Palace Gate Centre, a group meets each week to help people cope with the loss of a loved one. For decades, Exeter Cruse have run their Monday Friendship Group in the Lower Hall of the Palace Gate Centre.
Cruse seeks to help people cope with the loss of a loved one, whether that loss is recent or in the past. They understand how hard it can be to recover from seeing a loved one die and how lonely life can be afterwards.
The Friendship Group is there to provide a place where those living with bereavement can meet others who are going through a similar experience to themselves. This friendly group simply offers a welcoming word, a cup of tea and the chance for chat. Many value the group so highly that they have been coming for many years and often travel some distance. The group has given them new friends and renewed joy companionship in living on.
The Group meets each Monday from 10 am till 12 noon, except on Bank Holidays. There is no charge to attend but you are invited to make a donation for your tea or coffee to cover costs.
