The Lower Lounge is on the ground floor of the Centre and is easily accessible. It is a warm and welcoming space that can be used in a variety of ways. The Lounge is suitable for meetings of around 35 people.
The Lower Lounge has comfortable seating and coffee tables that can be used for support groups or chairs can be arranged for more formal meetings and training sessions. It has a pull down screen for projection and a PA system is installed in the room. We have a projector available for hire and make a small charge for using the PA system.
There is another small meeting room adjacent to the Lower Lounge with a sliding door which accommodates around 12 people. This makes the Lounge ideal for groups who as part of their meeting need two separate meeting spaces. This adjacent room also includes a kitchenette with hot water boiler ideal for making tea and coffee. When hiring the Lounge, we make no extra charge for use of the small room and kitchenette.
The Lounge is located next to the disabled toilet, so particularly suits groups where easy accessibility is required.
The Lower Lounge makes an ideal venue for informal groups, but can also be set up for training sessions and has its own sound system.
The Lower Lounge has its own kitchenette ideal for making and serving drinks. With the kitchen is a small meeting room shown below, which can be partitioned off from the main lounge with a sliding door. This makes the Lower Lounge a very flexible meeting space.
In 2018, the Lower Lounge was redecorated with a bright, new colour scheme which has given the room a fresh look. The green tones and white ceiling now make the room feel brighter and more restful.
